View of the main temple from the Gopuram.
The Thayar Mahalakshmi is facing East in the first praharam seen above.
The lord is seen in a Siting Posture in the main praharam. There are 2 other Vigrahas as Ranganathar behind and as a standing lord. The Ranganathar sannidhi is opened only on Ekadashi days and the Standing Lord is not offered daily Pujas as there is no access to climb the temple.
The King Nandivarman II was a Contemporary of Sri Thirumangai alwar who has sung 10 songs on this lord and also immortalised the king in his verses.
There are exquisite sculptures depicting the way the King ascended the throne and many more details which are all crumbling in spite of maintenance
