On the Kumbakonam Valaingiman route close to Avur about 12 kms from kumbakonam we reach the Oothukadu village .The place is famous for the 16 century poet Shri Venkatasubbiyer an ardent Krishna bhakta and the now famous Kalinga narthana Krishna temple

Quite close to the Kalinga narthana Krishna temple is this more ancient kailasanathar temple situated on the banks of a serene lake. When I visited the place it was still closed
