Prasanna Venkatesa perumal temple –Varasiddhi vinayakar temple - at Nungambakkam Chennai

The next temple in nungambakam is the perumal temple . The temple is situated in the road adjoining the Nungambakam police station. When you enter this road you will first see the vinayakar temple in Ramanaik street on the right and the perumal temple further down.

The temple is small and Has a small Ganapathy in the main sannidhi. The outer praharam has separate shrines for Nava graham and Saniswaran.

There is a beautiful nagalinga flower tree in the back yard where naga, murugan and durga have sannidhisDSCN1983DSCN1984

Further down the road you can see the perumal temple .

(Right before the perumal  temple is a  bajanai koil which has a huge venkateswara Idol seen abutting the road  )

As you enter you see the Anjaneyar sannidhi on the right and the moola sannidhi on the leftDSCN1991

The perumal is in the Standing posture and behind this sannidhi are sannidhis for Ramar with seetha, Lakshmana and Hanuman on the left , Padmavathi thayar on the right and to the far right is andal sannidhi

The anjaneyar is very powerful here and I could witness an abhishekam when I visited today with veda recitation filtering in from the Kanchi mutt veda patasala nearby. It was a thrilling experience

  1. The Anjaneya in perumal temple was installed in February 1952 by one Mr.Kalyanarama iyer.There is a big history behind the installation of this Anjaneya.

  2. In the entrance to the temple,Main RajaGopuram has been constructed and opened recently.If that is also added here,that will be advantageous.Thanks.
