On the Kumbakonam Thiruvarur route after tirucherai is the almost forgotten temple now in very sad state. It is a padal petra sthalam sung by Appar and the place where Hyagreevar explained to Agasthya the Lalitha Trisadi manthiram.
When I visited the temple It was locked as the goats would have a free run. The very active wife of the priest opened the temple for me and I spent peaceful time inside.
The elevated corridor leads to the main praharam where there is a Small sannidhi for Shiva and a south facing Ambal sanidhi.
The outer praharam has sannidhis for vinayaka, Murugan, Perumal, and various old idols of bhairavar and Shani
