Today I had the chance to visit this temple which is considered a part of the three shakthi temples in Chennai. They were apparently sculpted by the same sculptor and it is considered auspicious to visit these three temples in a day viz.,
Icchashakthi Thiruvudai amman Minjur Morning
Gnana shakthi Vadivudaiamman Thiruvotriyur Afternoon
Kriya shakthi Idaiudaiamman Thirumullaivoyal Evening

How to Reach:
The temple is in Melur just before Minjur on the Ennore road. I travelled from Padi on the 100 feet road and continued till the road ended at Manali.A left turn here and about 10 kms later we came to Melur where the 4 lane road ended .On the left the temple arch welcomed us.
This small village road is narrow and about 500 metres you will se the board to the temple near a petty shop
Follow the road and the temple is seen on the left

The peaceful surroundings of the temple enchanted us
As you enter the temple you find the temple complex in two parts the ambal sannidhi is in front and the Shivan sannidhi is behind
The Thiruvudaiamman sannidhi facing south welcomes us in the foreground It has been recently re built with cement. The ambal is about 5 feet and standing there to bless us

The three Shakti's are represented above
There is a snake pit in front of the ambal sannidhi below the portrait of Iccha shakthi shown below
Behind the ambal temple and facing East is the SriThirumaneshwarar shiva sannidhi. The temple is small but enchanting

The shiva lingam is a swayumbhu murthy quite small and is covered by a Silver Kaapu. The inner praharam has the usual Koshta vigrahas

The outer praharam is also quite serene

The sthala vruksham sara Kondrai below

The temple pond at some distance

The priest was an elderly gentleman who very patiently explained and took us around. He said on Pournami days the devotees rush is considerable but the rest of the days it is quite free,
Temple opens by 8 AM closes by 11:30 AM , re opens by 4 PM to 7 PM
